Job Description
MenloEDU is looking for a mid-level research associate to support research and evaluation tasks across multiple projects.

The research associate will: 

  • Contribute to multi-stakeholder (e.g., education practitioners and leaders, educational product designers, and project funders) research projects including facilitating engagement, communications, and supporting project convenings

  • Support research and evaluation projects drawing on participatory, design-based, and mixed-methods approaches

  • Assist with research and evaluation study design, including articulating research questions, identifying appropriate data collection methods and participants, and drafting data collection instruments. 

  • Conduct and track data collection; data management

  • Conduct data analysis, including qualitative analysis of documents, artifacts, and interviews, and (optionally) basic quantitative analysis of survey data

  • Assist with report-writing and sharing findings with varied stakeholders

Position Details
The position is for a remote 2-year, part-time (50%) associate who will work as a consultant to the company (i.e., on an hourly basis). There is potential for extending the position to full-time and for more than 2 years.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree (required) or PhD in the social sciences (e.g., education, psychology, sociology, anthropology, or a related field)

  • Research: Minimum 5 years experience working in education research, preferably in projects involving multiple stakeholders

  • Experience designing and planning research studies, conducting qualitative data collection and analysis, managing research tasks, writing research reports

  • Experience working in education systems with teachers, leaders, and other school, district, or state-level partners

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, coordinating across many projects, stakeholders, and teams at the same time. 

  • Commitment to conducting educational research and development in ways that reflect and support educational equity
